The VAG crankshaft seal flange installation tool is specifically designed for replacing the crankshaft oil seal on Audi and Volkswagen vehicles. It is compatible with 16V and 20V 1.9 and 2.0 diesel engines from 2006 onward, including 4-valve diesel engines with an integrated sender wheel. Suitable applications include Audi A3 4-cylinder models as well as VW Golf and Touran vehicles. Â
Replacing the crankshaft oil seal on these engines can be challenging, as the flywheel oil seal is integrated with the housing and engine speed sensor. The assembly includes a new timing ring, meaning that if the seal is faulty, the entire unit must be replaced. Â
